Au Vodka is once again back in the headlines with the unveiling of the world's largest vodka bottle. Clocking in at 250 liters and 6 feet, 8 inches tall, the towering golden slab contains over three hundred times as much vodka as a standard bottle of spirits. It's the latest move from a brand frequently eager to make show-stopping publicity stunts.
The bottle was revealed at London Stansted Airport alongside a suited Guinness World Records inspector who awarded it a plaque of authenticity. DJ Charlie Sloth, a partial owner of the brand, was also in attendance wearing an iced-out Au Vodka chain.
Evidently, big bottles come at big prices. Bidding has opened at £150,000 ($191,140) on the Au Vodka website. We imagine that shipping may cost nearly as much as the entry price.
“Our goal was to bring something different to the drinks market, a piece that goes beyond traditional advertising,” Au Vodka managing director Charlie Morgan told The Moodie Davitt report. "The world’s biggest bottle of vodka at Stansted isn’t just a display; it is a statement of our brand’s scale and our ambition to stand out in the global vodka market.”
The brand was founded in 2015 by UK natives Jackson Quinn and Charlie Morgan. Though the duo is now arguably best known for it glitzy spirits imprint, Morgan first achieved viral fame when he was kicked in the head mid-match by Chelsea F.C. footballer Eden Hazard.
Quinn and Morgan's brand has since become uniquely synonymous with the boxing world. Influencer Jake Paul was reportedly paid $250,000 to get a tattoo of Au Vodka Blue Raspberry on his bicep in a recorded promo stunt. It should be noted that the tattoo mysteriously vanished a little over a week later and has never been seen again. Au Vodka has also found an ambassador in Floyd Mayweather, who teamed up with the brand for the release of a grape-flavored expression.
The brand also caught attention in April with the appearance of hundreds of red question marks across Birmingham, Manchester and London. It was later revealed to be part of a Riddler-themed marketing blitz for its new Au Vodka Strawberry.
