On Tuesday, Kentucky bourbon giant Jim Beam expanded its flavored whiskey catalog with a new Pineapple offering. It's said to be the brand's first new flavored product in four years, and its latest release following the debut of Jim Beam Winter Reserve last October.
The expression is made by infusing Jim Beam Kentucky straight bourbon with pineapple liqueur, said to imbue sweet and tropical notes alongside hints of caramel and oak. The flavored whiskey is bottled at 32.5% ABV and costs just $20 per 750-milliliter bottle.
“As a brand rooted in Kentucky tradition, we love putting fresh spins on our brands— and Jim Beam Pineapple does exactly that,” Master Distiller Freddie Noe remarked in a news release. “This new flavor is our first flavored spirit in four years, and reflects the bold, vibrant spirit of today’s South. It is a celebration of flavor and community, made to be enjoyed with family and friends this summer season.”
Though the brand is arguably best known for its flagship bourbons, Jim Beam's flavored lineup has slowly but surely expanded over the years to eclipse just about every other offering in its catalog — at least in terms of sheer quantity.
Fans of the brand can find Jim Beam in Apple, Peach, Honey, Kentucky Fire, Vanilla and Red Stag (tastes like black cherry) flavors. Beam also offers malt-based pre-mixed cocktails in Punch and Lemonade varieties, both of which are made by Boston Beer Company, the brewer behind Twisted Tea, Truly Hard Seltzer and Samuel Adams.
