On Monday, Minute Maid doubled down on its presence in the alcohol industry with a quartet of Vodka Punch flavors and a boozy Pink Lemonade. The release comes on the heels of Minute Maid Spiked, a wine-based cocktail launched in late 2023 that remains available in Piña Colada, Lime Margarita and Strawberry Daiquiri flavors. The colorful vodka punches are the latest product from Red Tree Beverages, a Coca-Cola subsidiary launched in 2022 that aims to identify crossovers between the drinks giant's portfolio and alcoholic cocktails. Since its founding, Red Tree has aided in the launch of myriad nostalgic twists like Topo Chico Hard Seltzer, Jack Daniel's & Coke and Fresca Mixed. Those interested in its latest beverage can now find Minute Maid Spiked Punch in Citrus, Berry, Tropical and Classic Fruit flavors at retailers across the country. Each 355-milliliter cans clocks in at 5% ABV, with an 8-pack containing all flavors coming in at $19.99.
“Building on the success of the 2024 launch of Minute Maid Spiked Flavored Wine Cocktails, our latest additions from Red Tree Beverages are our no-fizz Minute Maid Spiked Vodka Pink Lemonade and Vodka Lemonade products," Red Tree Beverages President Lou Grill remarked in a news release. "For Minute Maid Spiked, our motto is “No Fuss, No Muss. No Duh.” which is about making hard-to-make cocktails easy and enjoyable."
Those who've shied away from liquor store shelves over the past few years may be surprised to hear that Minute Maid — the childhood favorite responsible for juice box drinks like Hi-C — is foraying into the alcohol business. However, if anything, Minute Maid is the norm, not the exception. As of late, the alcohol industry has fallen in love with what could generally be described as "crossover drinks." It's gotten to a point where there are nearly too many to sum up in a single article. Over the past couple of years alone, consumers have been treated to boozy cocktail launches from the likes of Sprite, 7 Up, Ocean Spray, Welch's, Sunny D, Dunkin' and even Rocket Pop. If you can think of a spiked twist on a soft beverage, chances are an executive has already beaten you to it. No name is dominating this burgeoning category quite like Coca-Cola. Rather than produce liquor in-house, Coca-Cola's Red Tree Beverages subsidiary contracts well-known distillers and brewers to make its products a reality. Topo Chico Hard Seltzer and Simply Spiked are both produced by Molson Coors; Fresca Mixed by Constellation Brands; Jack Daniel's & Coke by Brown-Forman. Minute Maid Spiked Vodka Pink Lemonade and Spiked Vodka Punch are reportedly being made by the LeVecke Corporation in Mira Loma, California. The company is responsible for several brands including Pau Maui Vodka, Fid Street Gin and Los Cabos Tequila. [callout-app-promo]
